The Gatineau speed skating club would like to inform SLSSC skaters that their annual meet will be held on Sunday, January 25th, 2015, at the Baribeau arena in Gatineau. More information to follow, as the event approaches.

Eastern Regional Meet #3 – Results
Congratulations to the 6 SLSSC skaters who attended the Eastern Regional Meet #3 in Gloucester, this past weekend. A fun day of skating was had by all, with many new PB’s set.

Eastern Regional Meet #3
The Quinte Speed Skating club will be hosting the Eastern Regional Meet #3 on November 30th, in Belleville. This meet is open to all non-Provincial series skaters. The announcement can be seen on the OSSA website. Registration forms (individual or family) must be completed and submitted to Heather, with payment, by November 19th.
Provincial Series Meet #2
The Clarington Speed Skating Club will be hosting the Provincial Series Meet #2 on Nov 22-23. The announcement can be viewed on the OSSA website. Registration forms (individual or family) must be submitted to Heather, by November 12th, 2014.
Please Note: The Canada Winter Games Trials will be held on Nov 21st at the Clarington arena. If you plan on trying out, the entry form must also be submitted to Heather by Nov 12th.
Provincial Series Meet #1 – Results
Congratulations to the club skaters that attended the Provincial Series Meet #2, this past weekend in Cambridge.
Congrats to Aidan VanBeek for taking top honours in the Group 2 Boys 3, Mixed Gender group and to Alphonse Ouimette for finishing 3rd in the Group 1 Men 1, Mixed Gender group.

Eastern Regional Meet #2
The Gloucester Concordes will be hosting Eastern Regional meet #2 on Sunday November 16th. This ability meet is open to all skaters not registered in the Provincial Series. The official announcement can be read on the OSSA website. The registration forms (individual or family) must be submitted, along with payment, to Heather by November 5th.
Provincial Series Meet #1
The Provincial Series will be commencing its season, for those who qualify, with the first meet scheduled for the weekend of November 1st & 2nd in Cambridge. The official announcement can be read on the OSSA website. The registration forms can be download by following the links (individual or family). Registration must be completed, and submitted to Heather, by October 22nd, 2014.
Eastern Regional Speed Skating Meet #1
The Ottawa Pacers will be hosting the 1st Meet of the 2014-15 Speed skating season on October 4th & 5th. This 2-day event is open to all skaters. Information about the meet can be found by reading the Announcement on the OSSA website. Registration will be completed on-line, with skaters filling out the forms (individual, family) and submitting them to our club along with your entry fee, before September 24th, 2014. If you do not have a seed time (new skaters only), please speak to your coach, and they will help determine one for you.
Provincial B Championship – Results
Congrats to the 3 skaters who traveled to Newmarket last weekend to compete in the Provincial B Championship. Here’s how they did:
Nolan Roney – 19th (Boys – 11 yrs old)
Andrew Chartrand – 3rd (Mixed Gender – 13 & 14 yrs old)
Connor Taughner – 3rd (Open Men)
Congrats to both Andrew and Connor for taking home medals.

Celia Giroux – 8th (6&7 year old girls)
Note: Celia skated with 6 and 7 year old girls due to lack of skaters in these 2 groups. She finished 2nd overall in the 6 year old girls category
