SLSSC Jackets and Skin suits – UPDATE

I have heard back from Louis Garneau !
Skin Suits- $215.00 plus taxes/shipping—- I need a minimum order of 6
Jackets- $139.95 – I need a minimum order of 12 or there will be a 5% surcharge =  146.95 plus taxes/shipping
The Jacket is a little different from our current Jacket, but still looks good. FYI, ours was discontinued.
I have also asked Lousi Garneau to look into the wear and tear of our last order. They would like pictures, so if any of you have more then normal wear & tear, come show me. I can take the pictures and forward them to LG.
LG will be sending me a “fit Kit” for the skins, and they are checking to see if there will be one for the jackets as well.
If anybody has questions please let me know.

Eastern Regional Racing Series # 1

Mark your calendars!

The Ottawa Pacers will be hosting the 1st Regional Racing Series meet of the 2013-2014 season. This 2-day event will take place October 5th & 6th at the Bell Sensplex in Kanata. More information can be found on the OSSA website or by reading the Official OSSA Announcement.

Registration must be completed on-line, with the signed waiver and payment returned to our club Registrar, no later than September 27th, 2013.

Seed times can be found in the Rankings list on the OSSA Racing page. If you do not have a seed time listed, please talk to the coaches this Sunday and they will help you out.

For your SSC #’s (Speed Skating Canada), please contact Heather.

Gavin Thulien of ZT Sports will have everything you need available for purchase at our Free Trial Day this Sunday pm, 6-9 pm at the Memorial Centre.

Good Morning all Speed Skaters and Parents!!

It is that time again!!!
If anybody is interested in a Jacket or skin suit please contact me

I will look into pricing and get a rough idea what costs will be..

There most likely needs to be an order of 10 skins or Jackets to process an order.

We could also start a second hand /swap shop idea if people are interested-
We could sell- Jiggs/skates/ skins etc..

2013/14 Registration – Round 2

If you missed registration last week, SLSSC is pleased to tell you there will be a 2nd Registration & Skate Fitting on Wed, Sept 4th, 6-8 pm, at the Brockville Memorial Centre. Forms and Info are posted on the Membership page.

There are still spaces available in all programs from Learn-to-Skate through Master.  Anyone new to Speed Skating is invited to register for our trial membership. For $75, trial members may participate in 4 consecutive sessions. Skate Rental is included.

Please note that late fees will apply to returning members after Sept 4th.

Sessions begin Sun, Sept 8th for all groups with the exception of Learn-to-Skate which starts on Tues, Sept 10th.

Just a reminder that the 2013/14 season starts on Sunday September 8th, with the Y1/Y2 groups on the ice at 6:30pm, followed by the Comp and Masters groups on at 7:45 pm.

Anyone not registered, but still interested in skating this season, should e-mail info@stlawrencespeedskatingclub.org for more information.

Learn to Skate with SLSSC

New for 2013! Learn to Skate with SLSSC!

Ages: 3+, no skating ability required
Skates: Hockey, Figure or Recreational skates
Equipment: Safety equipment as per club policy
Time: Tuesdays 6:00-6:30 pm
Cost: $75 per session (2 sessions: Sep 10- Dec 21, Jan 6 – Mar 25)
Learn the fundamentals of skating in a fun, game-based environment. Skaters progress through introductory levels of the Speed Skating Canada Cutting Edge Pin Program.
Excellent foundation for balance, agility, and stroking.   Skaters will be provided opportunities to try long blade skates during their session.
