Since we are expecting low numbers on Oct. 31 from our Youth 1 at 6-7 pm, we have switched their practice to Wed Nov. 1 at 4:30 to 5:40 pm.

Please note that LEARN TO SKATE is unaffected, so we are looking forward to seeing all our volunteers and skaters on Wed at 5:45 as per normal.

to get all Canadians on the ice.
Borrow speed skates from us, or bring your own skates and helmet.
Snacks, prizes, games and a draw for a gift certificate for our skating programs 🙂
Just a reminder that skating is cancelled Sunday November 27th.

The cancellations are listed by date at the bottom. The first cancellation is coming up on Oct 9th, Thanksgiving Sunday. Eat turkey and spend time with your family! There will be no ice for any group.

Sunday, January 3rd CUTTING EDGE TESTING 6:30-7:00 pm Coaches will assess/practice pin skills for 30 min, then back to normal practice. Youth 2 are invited to skate with Youth 1, from 6:30 – 7:35 so we can see everyone’s cutting edge. Additional evaluations occur throughout the season.
Dryland for Comp starts Jan 3rd at 7:05 pm, before on-ice training on Sunday nights.
SLSSC is once again offering a 1⁄2 hour Learn-to-Skate program on Tuesdays from 6-6:30
pm. This program is aimed at children 3 years and up with no previous skating
experience.The focus is on teaching the fundamental skating skills appropriate for any ice
sport. Any type of skates may be worn.
The program is offered in two sessions, fall &winter, and the cost is $100 per session. Each session is 10 weeks: Oct 20-Dec 22 & Jan 5- Mar 8.
Registration Day for Learn-to-Skate Session 1 is Tuesday, September 15, 6-8 pm at the Memorial Centre
The Head Coach has put together a Welcome Club for all skaters. Please take the time to read it to familiarize yourself with the coaches goals and expectations for this season.
The club is offering off-ice training sessions this year. The schedule is as follows:
Y1/Y2 6:00pm (15 min)
Comp 6:50pm (30 min)
Y1 5:30pm (15 min)
Y2/Comp 6:10 (30 min)
Make sure to bring/wear proper shoes and clothing!
Reminder: The ice (6:30pm-9:00pm) will NOT be available to skaters after the meet this Sunday.
Make sure to come out and cheer your teammates on this Sunday!
The ice schedule for Tuesday January 28th, 2014 is as follows:
6:00-6:50 pm – Comp
7:00-7:50 pm – No ice as there is a Braves Hockey game.
This means that both the Youth 1 and Learn 2 Skate programs will not skate on this evening. Please refer to the Practice schedule for future ice time changes.
For those Youth 1 skaters looking to register for the Kingston Meet, please submit your forms and payment to Heather by Sunday January 26th.
Skating will be cancelled on Sunday February 24th due to a Brockville Tikis playoff game.
