Eastern Regional Speed Skating Meet #1
The Ottawa Pacers will be hosting the 1st Meet of the 2014-15 Speed skating season on October 4th & 5th. This 2-day event is open to all skaters. Information about the meet can be found by reading the Announcement on the OSSA website. Registration will be completed on-line, with skaters filling out the forms (individual, family) and submitting them to our club along with your entry fee, before September 24th, 2014. If you do not have a seed time (new skaters only), please speak to your coach, and they will help determine one for you.

Trial Skating
Interested in speed skating, but not sure if you are going to like it? Come give a try before committing to a full season. We offer 4 sessions/lessons for a small fee and if you decide you like it, you will, we will discount your full membership by this fee. Registration for the upcoming season will be taking place on Thursday August 28th, from 7:30-8:30pm, at the Brockville Memorial Center.
Learn-to-Skate
Registration for the 1st session of the Learn-To-Skate program will be Thursday August 28th, from 7:30-8:30pm at the Memorial Center.
Ages: 3+, no skating ability required
Skates: Hockey, Figure or Recreational skates
Equipment: Safety equipment as per club policy
Time: Tuesdays 6:00-6:30 pm
Cost: $80 per session (2 sessions: Oct 7-Dec 23, Jan 6- Mar 24)
Learn the fundamentals of skating in a fun, game-based environment. Skaters progress through introductory levels of the Speed Skating Canada Cutting Edge Pin Program.
Excellent foundation for balance, agility, and stroking. Skaters will be provided opportunities to try long blade skates during their session.
If you cannot attend this registration, please contact the club to make other arrangements.

Come skate with 2014 Olympians in Ottawa
During its Annual General Meeting held in Ottawa June 19-21, Speed Skating Canada is inviting young skaters and members from the community to come out and skate with Olympians from the 2014 Olympic Games.
The event will take place from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm at the Roger Senecal Arena in the Bob MacQuarrie Recreation Complex (1490 Youville Dr., Ottawa), home of the Gloucester Concordes club.
Rising stars will have the opportunity to skate and celebrate with Olympians with photo opportunities and autographs from the athletes in a public skating event divided in two sessions. The final schedule will be communicated during the week.

Venez patiner avec des Olympiens de 2014 à Ottawa
Dans le cadre de son Assemblée générale annuelle présenté à Ottawa du 19 au 21 juin, Patinage de vitesse Canada invite les jeunes patineurs de la région ainsi que les membres de sa communauté à venir patiner avec des Olympiens des Jeux olympiques de 2014.
L’opportunité aura lieu entre 14 h 30 et 16 h 30 à l’aréna Roger Sénécal du Centre Bob MacQuarrie, hôte du club des Concordes de Gloucester (1490 Youville Dr., Ottawa).
Au cours de cette opportunité, les jeunes de la relève auront la chance de patiner et d’échanger avec les Olympiens et d’obtenir un autographe ou une photo dans une formule de patinage libre divisée en deux sessions.
